Design 

At Ruki Modern, we feel that understanding the complete process of production and the nature of materials makes us better designers. Pencils and computers are not the only tools in our collection. 

 

Sometimes a collection of drawings just isn't enough to satisfy the creative urge. We often feel the need to get our hands dirty or completely covered in sawdust. Understanding the processes of building and first-hand knowledge of how materials respond to differing demands gives a designer a more complete view of the final product, whether the product is a small bench or a large custom residence.

Materials should not be selected merely because of the way they look. Each material responds to the immediate surroundings in different ways. Every material has strengths and weaknesses for each unique context. Even the way two (or more) materials interact at a point of connection will determine their usefulness or desirability in a project.
